Without light there is darkness, and with their contrast, texture and tone can be crafted to tell the story. There is the symbolic nature of light vs. dark, ie good and evil. I have a strong connection to the way spaces are lit; it’s our first impression of a space and our / the audiences connection to it. The contrast between dark and light has a dramatic tension that plays well in our story almost as if the light is a character itself. Lighting is magic.
