FIN:

It is important to note the hard beauty of Berlin; the beauty in which the characters find themselves in, despite a murderous fascist machine in control. There is love, laughter, disappointment, anger, courage, empathy, rage, hatred, ignorance, complacency, and the banality of evil. The sun still shines, the snow glistens, the leaves blanket as the birds sing as death lurks around around every corner. There is a tension in the air most of the time. This tension builds throughout our story as things spiral out of control and begin to splinter apart until we find respite.

It is ignorance, and inaction that is equally as dangerous as pulling the trigger oneself.

Humans have a unique and unfortunate ability to compartmentalize atrocity so that they may continue to eat ice cream.

Look away. It doesn’t effect me. Until it does.

There, beneath it all, is an internal battle of life as you knew it, life as it is written, and life as it is and will be.

In horror and desperation there is still hope and optimism.

This is that story.
